Classic Cars

How about arriving to your wedding in a Classic car. From a Bentley Speed 1924 to a 1960's Mercedes. These cars can be rented for the day with a chauffeur. Perfect way to add that touch of class!

Stunning New Venue

Yesterday I visited a stunning new venue. It is in Silves and has a view to the old castle. Great for groups of 75 to 150 people. The owners are very accomodating and want so much to give people their perfect day.

A little piece of heaven

Wedding cakes made to melt in your mouth! From Lemon drizzle, to victoria sponge, chocolate, fruit...the list goes on. Traditional or non traditional. In my opinion these cakes are made by one of the Algarve's most creative and accomplished bakers. Tell her what you want and she can make it. If you really want something special this would be the place to get your wedding cake from and more. They also make Cookies that can be used as gifts for your guests and name places. A Little Piece of Heaven!

Pamper Yourself

This weekend I went to look around a few Spa's. They were all great and one really caught my eye. The Body & Skincare Center. The reason that they got my attention was that they are willing to go out of their way to please their clients. They are putting together a package for brides that want to come with a few friends for a day of pampering, minimum 4 or maximum 6. The center will pick you up at your accomodation taking you to start your morning of different treatments, then you will be taken to the beach for a lunch of freshly grilled fish (if you dont like fish then there is always something else) and back to center for the rest of the afternoon of pampering! The center is closed down for the day so that you and your friends can enjoy the experience just for yourselves.

Seafood Spectacular

I have recently discovered a new beachside location for weddings, in a secluded cove, with a superb seafood restaurant that can accommodate a wedding party of up to 100 guests. Just outside is a lawn for the ceremony and you can step off the restaurant veranda straight onto the beach. The location is quite and very private, but all beaches in Portugal are public, so it cannot be totally closed. You can arrive at this location by a private yacht, but bear in mind that the final bill would not be for the faint hearted. The meal includes fresh lobster, giant prawns, oysters, crab, scallops and an amazing array of fish that will be freshly cooked for your guest. It is a truly lovely location if you are looking for a beach wedding and a restaurant with a passion for seafood.

Re-new your wedding vows

How about re-newing your wedding vows? I helped a couple do this just recently and it was one of the most moving ceremonies that I have been to. Held in a venue over looking the cliff top with the sea as the back ground, a intimate ceremony with just six people. The venue after the ceremony served them with Champagne cocktails and canapes in the garden. Simply beautifull..!

Organic flowers

Today I went to see a lady that has a Farm shop selling all organic products. She also grows flowers and does the most wonderful organic wedding bouquets grown at their own farm. So if you want the rustic look and be environmentally friendly at the same time, then this is the place to get your flowers for your wedding. A really special touch!

Buying a wedding dress in Portugal

A client asked me last week if it’s was a good idea to buy her wedding dress here in Portugal. My advice was no, not unless you are spending a considerable amount of time here prior to the wedding. You have to consider fittings and the time taken for alterations, and from my experience you cant make any substantial savings by buying here.
